Hi! I'm Julie Leir-VanSickle.
I make multi-media, interactive, and experimental performances. I am interested in engaging a sense of curiosity and play. I smash fourth walls for fun, enjoy exploring non-traditional performances spaces, and love to create experiences for the audience to share both with me and each other. I believe deeply that all of us have creativity to share with the world, and sometimes we just need a little encouragement and permission to let it shine.
My most recent projects have been creating my multi- media dance performances "Shedding Skin," "Weaving Webs," and "Shell" at various Fringe Festivals across the United States and Canada; creating the dance film "Weather Patterns," and the performance piece "Wander and Wonder" for the Going Dutch Festival in Elgin, Illinois; collaborating and performing with Callous Physical Theatre in Florida and North Carolina; creating burlesque shows in Pocatello, Idaho; and teaching movement creation workshops.
